Year In Industry Business Analyst. UK with European project exposure
A placement with real impact, frequent access to the senior leadership team. UK-based, with exposure to wider European projects.
This is a rare placement opportunity to actively shape how a business uses and maximises its data. As our Business Analyst, you’ll use modern analysis techniques to understand what the business needs, translate that into clear requirements, and help teams deliver improvements that make a measurable difference. You’ll play an important role in rolling out Microsoft Dynamics 365, and you’ll support data-led decision making through tools like Power BI, creating dashboards and insights that leaders can act on. While your day-to-day focus will be in the UK, you’ll also gain exposure to wider European projects and collaborate with international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with stakeholders to understand problems and opportunities, map current processes, and define future ways of working. You’ll capture and document requirements (user stories, process maps, simple functional specs), agree priorities, and help ensure outcomes meet business needs.
Support data-led decision making by helping define key measures, improving data quality with teams, and building or enhancing Power BI dashboards and reporting. You’ll turn data into clear insights, highlight trends and exceptions, and help stakeholders understand what actions to take next.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, recommending practical fixes, and helping teams adopt better processes. You’ll document changes clearly (process maps, guidance notes), support benefit tracking, and contribute to creating scalable ways of working.
Be instrumental in the rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365. You’ll help colleagues understand new ways of working and provide practical support during go-live and early adoption.
Support cross-functional project delivery by coordinating actions, tracking decisions and risks, and keeping documentation up to date. Where required, you’ll collaborate with colleagues on wider European initiatives, learning how projects run across countries and functions.
Work with strong attention to governance and data quality, handling information responsibly and ensuring requirements, reports and project documentation are accurate, controlled and easy to follow.
Skills & Traits we’re looking for:
Self-starter mindset: comfortable working with limited structure at times, taking ownership, and moving work forward (this is a role with real impact, so your initiative matters).
Resilient and adaptable: able to work through ambiguity, stay organised when priorities shift, and keep a constructive mindset during change (especially during system rollouts).
Strong digital skills: confident with Microsoft 365 (especially Excel). Interest in Dynamics 365 and Power BI or similar is a big plus but not essential, along with curiosity about how systems and data drive business performance.
Analytical and detail-focused: careful with requirements, testing evidence and reporting, with a logical approach to problem-solving and validating what “good” looks like.
Clear communicator: able to facilitate conversations, ask the right questions, and turn complex inputs into simple, usable outputs (process maps, requirements, training notes).
Professional judgement: understands the importance of data accuracy, access control and good documentation, and can be trusted to handle information appropriately.
This placement could suit you if you’re studying Business, IT, Management, Data (or a related degree) and want real-world experience improving processes, rolling out business systems, and using data to influence decisions.
